The celebration of The Lord’s Supper was the central act of worship in the Sunday Morning Service of the Churches of Christ. The same practice continues to be followed in the Balsall Heath United Reformed Church. This Communion Table and chairs, the Chalice and Collection Bags come from the Church of Christ Sparkhill. The Communion Cup and Plates come from the Church of Christ Moseley Road. The practice of passing a cup among the congregation has now been changed and individual glasses are used.

The Churches of Christ tradition required adult baptism by total immersion. The Baptistry is a sunken tiled bath with steps leading down from the Cross.
The United Reformed Church accepts two exclusive forms of Baptism.
There is a modern wooden Font which can be seen to the right of the steps, for infant baptism.
This Font is also used by St.Paul’s Anglican Parish Church, with whom we share the building.
